Executive summary

ISER (Pty) Ltd, trading as Expert, is the largest independent retail buying group in South Africa. A national group of leading owner-managed stores, it specialises in appliances, furniture, audiovisual equipment and digital products. Goods are procured in bulk through a single channel to ensure that goods sold at Expert stores are available at competitive prices.

What needed to be done

Due to the large number of invoices that are processed at the ISER head office on a monthly basis (between 15 000 and 20 000), it became apparent that the system needed to be upgraded to software that would cope with the large volume.

How did we help?

ISER was moved from Pastel Brilliant Accounting Software onto Sage Evolution with SQL 2005 as a platform. Brilliant Link implemented the Sage Evolution software as well as the Payroll module and the seamless conversion was completed in less than two weeks. Brilliant Link developed a custom batch processing system, which enables ISER to validate bulk transactions into Sage Evolution.
